A couple years ago I came across Moment. They where making lenses to attach to your phone, this wasn't anything new in the mobile world.
Mobile photography in 2014 was already booming and the list of attachable lenses was large but some varried from ok to downright terrible.
Earlier in 2014 one of the founders of the counter camera started crowdfunding a mobile lens and mounting system company called Moment.
The crowdfunding campaign for Moment was very successful, the whole campaign was obviously promoting being in the moment and having the lenses with you at all times to capture special and unique moments with the lenses.
Moments lenses stood out from the competition because of their extremely well built lenses they where machined metal and used glass instead of plastics.
Fast forward to 2017 and Moment has made several advancements in their lenses and mounting system. The lenses have been improved with better optics and the new mounting phone case, now made for various phones on the market.
I ordered my first case and lens for my iPhone 8 back in October.
The case fits the phone perfectly and the lens mounted to the case just like a lens would to a camera. The case and lens is a patent design and it's what separates it from the competition, that and the extreme build quality.
Once you have the lens mounted on you can tell that craftsmanship and the design where really paid attention to because once it's on it's secure and does not feel like it's going to fall off.
The Moment system offers three other lenses and their new cinema lens. There is the 60mm portrait lens, 170° super fisheye lens, 10x macro lens, and the 1.33x anamorphic lens for video or photo.
I honestly think these lenses really do bring a new level of photography to the mobile photography world.
I bring my moment lens with me every where. Here are some images from the moment system. shot on the moment wide and pixel 2 XL and iPhone 8.
Thanks for reading.
